Singapore VC plants flag in Ohio in search of US investors
Many of the US investors approaching Tin Men Capital made their wealth in the industrial Midwest and see Southeast Asia taking a larger role in global supply chains. Private Equity International reported that the firm has hired Arielle Thompson in Cleveland as global head of capital formation, to build ties with US institutional investors and help portfolio companies enter the US. “We don’t look for unicorns,” Co-Founder and Managing Partner Jeremy Tan said. “We look for the underserved businesses that’s got value.”
SG-based industrial AI startup Ailytics raises $7.4m led by Tin Men Capital
Ailytics began as a joint HDB and NUS project and now counts more than 400 deployments in 15 countries, including the US, Australia, Japan and Saudi Arabia. DealStreetAsia reported its US$7.4 million Series A, led by Tin Men Capital, which also led the previous round, with SG Growth Capital and Japan’s Safie joining. The funding takes the Singapore vision AI start-up, run by co-founders Lenard Tan (CEO) and Prateek Manocha (CTO), into the US, wider Asia Pacific and the Gulf.

Tin Men Capital Co-Founder and Managing Partner Jeremy Tan said the company’s defence lies in real-world site data: “The access to non-public data also enables the models to be sharper for these specific purposes.”
Tin Men Capital leads $7.4m round for vision AI startup Ailytics
Tin Men Capital has backed Ailytics for a second time, leading a US$7.4 million Series A two years after it led the start-up’s US$2.7 million pre-Series A, Tech in Asia reported. The Singapore company uses the CCTV cameras already installed at industrial sites to monitor safety and operations, and counts more than 400 deployments across 15 countries. SG Growth Capital and Japan’s Safie, also a partner, joined the round.
Tin Men Capital backs Malaysian deeptech startup with $2m
Tin Men Capital led a US$2 million seed round in nanoSkunkWorkX, a Malaysian start-up that develops thin-film interfaces for semiconductors, hydrogen systems and diagnostics, Tech in Asia reported. Co-founded in 2019 by former NASA principal investigator Dr Amani Salim and Iqbal Shamsul, the company named Tin Men as its first Singaporean investor. It will put the money towards semiconductor partner qualification, scaling its interface-engineering platform and hydrogen and diagnostic programmes in Asia.
‘You need to have great barriers to entry’: More VC firms expand into deep tech as AI reshapes startup investing
Venture funding in Singapore fell 34% to US$4.6 billion in 2025, and more generalist VC firms are moving into deep tech. Tin Men Capital Co-Founder and Managing Partner Murli Ravi told The Business Times the firm has extended further into frontier tech, backing Pints AI and Tau, and that founders will now avoid investors who do not understand the science. “There are opportunities for folks who have been consistent,” he said.
